A few weeks ago I wrote a quite in depth blog post about my journey into surfing and how meeting a group of ladies at an all women surf club boosted my confidence, friends and surfing ability. When I heard about the Halloween surf in Newquay last weekend to raise money for The Wave Project I was keen to join in.
The Wave Project is a community surf project that supports vulnerable young people with a focus on the emotional health and wellbeing through the power of surfing and the sea. After my journey through learning to surf I know first hand how empowering catching a wave can be and wanted to support the group to help more people gain enjoyment through the waves.
Meeting everyone on the beach in Fancy Dress was definitely a laugh and as we headed into the sea on mass with clowns, witches and zombies we definitely made a scene in the waters of Towan beach in Newquay.
To support the event all you need to do is purchase one of the photos from the event at just £2.00 a photo which I think is great. You can find the link to more images here
